Sprint Gala 2017
Published: Saturday, February 25, 2017
On Saturday and Sunday 25th/26th March 2017 we will be holding our Sprint gala for all swimmers aged 9 and over (age as at December 31st 2017).
This is an important event within the club calendar as it enables swimmers to obtain Personal Best times over 50m and 100m and helps Coaches, Parents & the Swimmers to monitor progress. The gala will be licensed at Level 4 (Licence No. TBC). This allows swimmers’ times to be placed onto the British Swimming Rankings system, and used to enter Level 3 open meets and North Lancs events.
The gala will be swum under Leyland Barracudas Sprint Gala Rules Rev 2017. A copy of these is posted on the upstairs notice board and is available for download from the website.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each event by age category (9-11 years,
12-13 years, & 14 and over)
Entry fee £3.00 per Event. No refunds once entry received.
Closing Date for Entries: 18:00 SUNDAY 12th March 2017
Entries are now closed.
Please ensure that the swimmers name is clearly shown on all entry forms and on the reverse of any cheques.
For anyone who cannot access the system, or who experiences technical issues, a paper entry system is also available via the form below.
Please note that for the entry to be valid, the completed entry forms (electronic or paper) still need to be printed and handed in with the appropriate entry fee before the closing date, to the competition secretary or any committee member.
There are no exceptions for late entry.
Entries are at the discretion of the Chief Coach and Competition Secretary
Withdrawals MUST follow the procedure outlined in the rules and may only be made through Jon Ward (07480 842695 – preferably by text).
Swimmers will be allowed to register 30 minutes before warm up.
Warm-up will be 3.30pm (Saturday) and 3.00pm (Sunday).
It is anticipated that the duration of each session of the gala will be a maximum of 3 hours, not including warm up.
If necessary, a break will be scheduled during each session after the final number of entries are confirmed.
Parents please note: On the day of Gala there will be an admission charge to spectate. The club does not attempt to make a profit from galas but does try to break even.
Any queries, please contact Jon Ward.
