Fundraising at Barracudas
At Barracudas we raise funds in a number of ways:
- Annual Membership Fees
- Monthly Training Fees
- the 50:50 club
- Social Events
- The Club Shop
- Annual Sponsored Swim
- Ad hoc events such as bag packing.
We are a not for profit organisation and all funds raised are used for the running of the club and to keep the monthly training fees as low as possible. The only role within the club that includes any payment is the Chief Coach who is contracted to develop and run the training programme. We are very lucky that our current Chief Coach also puts in a significant number of voluntary hours to run our Micro A, Senior A and Arena A teams. All other roles within are entirely voluntary and the club would be unable to function without the time given by these volunteers.
The club shop is run by Sara Porter and can be found at Leyland Pool most Sundays.
The shop is run to give you the best prices that we can; any profit that is made goes to support the club.
If the shop doesn't stock it, it can probably get it or you can buy online via our ProSwimwear shop and the club will still benefit.

The fifty fifty club is a draw that members may enter for a small monthly fee. Each month a single winner receives 50 percent of the entry fees for that month and the rest goes to the club.

Each year we run a sponsored swim where our swimmers do swim as many lengths as they can in 20 minutes and raise money through sponsorship.
The sponsored swim is open to all swimming members and there is usually a prize for the most sponsorship raised.
